Yemi moved to Colorado Springs in 2010, where he started a family, built three small businesses, launched a church, and became a public servant and community leader. Yemi is a West African immigrant, a US citizen, a political independent, and the unifying leader Colorado Springs needs in these uncertain times.

Husband & Father

Undeniably his most important role, Yemi is an active and engaged father to three young children who he shares with his wife, Abbey. Yemi understands the rewards and daunting task of raising children. Unleashing a better future for his three children and your families is why Yemi is running.

Business leader

From his early career origins in quality control manufacturing, Yemi expanded his business leadership by co-founding Good Neighbors Meeting House and The Wild Goose Meeting House, restaurants / cafes in the Colorado Springs area.  He co-founded Niche Coaching and Consulting, to help business leaders grow and local businesses thrive.

Public Servant

In his previous role as Small Business Development Administrator for the City of Colorado Springs, Yemi served as the City’s central figure to support small businesses and start-ups. He pioneered new technologies to improve the citizen experience with government and promote local economic development. Furthermore, he served as the Vice President of Business Retention and Expansion for the Colorado Springs Chamber & Economic Development Corporation during a time of record job growth in the city.

Pastor

Yemi moved to Colorado Springs to start a church and later served at First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs as a ministry leader to care for people and empower them to love their neighbors. His mission expanded to co-founding COSILoveYou and CityServe Day, a nonprofit and movement to unite over 100+ churches from various denominations in service to Colorado Springs with no strings attached.

Community Leader

Yemi’s personal mission is to collaborate for the health, growth and flourishing of Colorado Springs.  He is a tireless community advocate and serves the causes of many local organizations including, Thrive Network of Southeast Colorado Springs Board of Directors, Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs Advisory Council, Springs Rescue Mission Board of Directors, Pikes Peak Community College President’s Advisory Council, Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region Board of Directors, Men’s Xchange Board of Directors, Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center Advisory Board, Pikes Peak Workforce Center Workforce Development Board, and COSILoveYou Board of Directors.

Yemi has been recognized as a community leader by multiple local institutions. He is ready to apply this success to leading as Mayor. Yemi has successfully elevated residents, small businesses, and entrepreneurs to economic security.
