Priority #1

Public Safety

As a father of three young kids, Mayor Yemi Mobolade knows that safety for our families and neighborhoods is not a policy priority — it is personal. That is why he has made it his first order of business since day one, hiring nearly 300 new police officers to bring the force to a record 800 strong, driving homicides down 20 percent, and putting cutting-edge tools in the hands of the people who keep Colorado Springs safe.

POLICE STAFFING
  • Colorado Springs hired 250+ police officers since Mayor Yemi took office in June 2023 — the most aggressive recruiting push in the city's history.
    [KOAA]
  • CSPD surpassed 800 sworn officers for the first time ever, reaching a historic staffing high in April 2025.
    [KRDO]
  • The 911 communications center reached its highest staffing level since 2018.
    [City of COS]

  • Opened Fire Station 24 on the city's north side.  [FOX21]
  • Expanded the whole blood program — credited with saving more than 80 lives.

Priority #2

INfrastructure

Colorado Springs is growing fast, and Mayor Yemi knows that growth means nothing if we do not take care of what we already have — from the roads we drive on, to the parks our families enjoy, to the airport that connects us to the world. That is why he made infrastructure a non-negotiable commitment, earning the trust of voters who extended the 2C road program with 73 percent support, securing $820 million for the largest repaving investment in city history, advancing Legacy Loop and Garden of the Gods improvements, and delivering new direct air service and an international terminal designation for Colorado Springs Airport.

ROADS
  • The 2C program has repaved more than 1,600 lane miles of road and replaced more than 300 miles of curbs and gutters since 2015.

  • Colorado Springs voters extended the 2C road program with 73% support — the largest road repaving investment in city history at $820 million.  [Colorado Public Radio]
  • City crews repaired more than 94,000 potholes in 2024 and 52,000+ more in 2025, with 12 new pothole crew members added.
    [State of the City 2025]
AIRPORT & PARKS
  • Completed three segments of Legacy Loop; Grey Hawk Park under construction; accessibility improvements made at Garden of the Gods.
    [State of the City 2025]
  • Colorado Springs Airport added new direct air service, secured an international terminal designation, and set passenger records.

Priority #3

Housing & Homelessness

Mayor Yemi knows that a thriving city is one where working families can afford to put down roots. Since taking office he has pushed hard on both supply and affordability — 8,000+ homes permitted or built, 1,700 affordable units opened or moving forward in the last year alone, and a homelessness response plan grounded in compassion, public safety, and real pathways to stability.

HOUSING SUPPLY
HOMELESSNESS
  • Increased the size of the CSPD’s Homeless Outreach Team by 50% to enforce illegal camping and other criminal behavior.
  • Cleared more than 1,300 encampments in 2025 alone.
  • Spearheaded raising nearly $1 million in philanthropic and private investment to expand winter shelter operations for homelessness providers.

Priority #4

ECONOMIC VITALITY

Mayor Yemi has delivered record-breaking economic growth for Colorado Springs — securing 16 economic development agreements projected to bring 2,700 jobs and $69 million in new revenue — and as the small business mayor, he has made it easier than ever for local entrepreneurs to start, grow, and thrive in this city. From $2.1 million in Thrive loans to the Permit Partner tool that has put permitting at the fingertips of 5,000 business owners, Mayor Yemi is building an economy that works for everyone.

JOBS & INVESTMENT
TOURISM
  • Record 25.5 million visitors spent $3.1 billion in Colorado Springs in 2024 — the highest in city history.  [State of the City 2025]
SMALL BUSINESS

Priority #5

Community Activation

Mayor Yemi has always believed that Colorado Springs can be a city of great neighbors and neighborhoods — and his administration has put that vision into action. Through the 1,000 Neighborhood Gatherings initiative his administration connected more than 55,000 residents, and through the Keep It Clean COS program residents are cleaning up our parks and stormwater system. On top of that, El Paso County registered an 18 percent drop in suicide deaths and a 60 percent decline in youth suicides along the way.

NEIGHBORLINESS
  • Colorado Springs earned the title of #1 Most Neighborly City in America, recognized by Neighbor.com — up two spots from the prior year.
    [Fox21 / Neighbor.com]
  • 880 neighborhood gatherings held across all 77 city neighborhoods, reaching an estimated 55,000 residents over 133 days.
[City of COS — Gold Medal Moments]
MENTAL HEALTH
  • Suicide deaths dropped 18% and youth suicides fell 60% — among the most significant mental health outcomes in the city's recent history.
    [State of the City 2025]
  • Pikes Peak Rising launched Colorado's first 360° public mental health resource portal, in partnership with El Paso County Public Health.
    [KRDO — Year-End Briefing]
  • Expanded access to the 988 mental health crisis line through a formal partnership with CSPD.
    [State of the City 2025]
CLEAN CITY
  • Launched a community-led Keep It Clean COS program activating residents to help with trash cleanups along key areas including America the Beautiful Park, the Midland Trail, the Pikes Peak Greenway, and the Sand Creek Trail.

economy & Affordability

A Yemi Administration will champion a human-centered economy, putting the local business owner front and center. Economy and affordability are not mere buzz words. Rather, a Yemi administration will prioritize policies and programs that expand economic opportunity to all Colorado Springs residents. These include bolstering new and diverse industries, and supporting local workers and entrepreneurs throughout the city.

Yemi is a small business owner in Colorado Springs, and he understands the struggles, risks, and rewards facing local business owners. As businesses continue to move past the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, a Yemi administration will continue to help local businesses get back on their feet.
